Let's get this out of the way. I don't like to talk about myself, but I've been in technology since I was a kid. I taught myself how to program in 6th grade, and I learned webdev shortly after. I was born in the early 80s, so all of my foundations here were self-taught. That's also my preference for all learning, and AI is just about the best there is at helping you learn new topics.
I founded some small potato companies after high school, dropped out of college after a year and change over a parking ticket, and wound up in Austin, Texas to become a firefighter, which I failed. I worked my way up through developer jobs in advertising & webdev shops before landing at Fleshlight during the Great Recession, and traded it for a developer job at Onnit, which I eventually turned into CTO and some marketing dabbling. That exploded thanks to Joe Rogan's podcast, and I spent years there learning more skills from rad people. I bounced to Puracy as CDO, was acquihired by an aggregator there, then jumped ship back into the seas of entrepreneurship. I have a ranch in Texas and a 50% discount card for Via313 for being an early investor.
I am someone who does not want attention, but feels the need to create a resource for others to understand what's happening right now with AI. I believe this tech is going to fundamentally alter human society, and I know that sounds like weird internet troll hyperbole. But it's not, and Hasta La Vista, AI is an AI news aggregator that will exist to help convey that message with sources.
The nuanced take is this: the AI crisis is here, but at the same time, you cannot be fully anti-AI.
If you're fully anti-AI, you will be left behind. It's simply that good, that powerful, and it will be how you compete in this new dawn of technowizardry. At the same time, it's not a doomer perspective to highlight the downsides and potentialities, because simply everything in the universe has pros and cons. You can die from drinking too much water, yet it's necessary for life. This is the reality we find ourselves in.
